“ Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” -Maya Angelou, Author and Poet
Typically, when issues in our lives present themselves, we turn to those closest in our lives such as a partner, parent, sibling, or friend. Often times we are given skewed feedback, offered advice we don’t want to hear, or harshly confronted with no regard to our feelings. On occasion people find themselves needing to talk to someone, other than a friend or loved one, who is able to offer a nonbiased reflection of what they are experiencing. Some clients seek therapy for particular presenting issues, or symptoms, while in other cases, the issues are masked and discovered over time. Therapy allows the client the opportunity to identify and express their feelings, discover personal insights, and work through past traumas in a supportive, collaborative setting.
